Newly Donated Beddings Expected To Bring Smiles To Affected Families In Vanua Levu

Several hundred day bed cushions donated by the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa are being delivered to families in the Northern Division, who were affected by Cyclones Yasa and Ana.
A small informal ceremony was held at the resort where the cushions were handed over to Commissioner Western, Mesake Ledua who received the donation on behalf of Government.
Mr Ledua said: “On behalf of Honourable Prime Minister and the Government of Fiji, I receive the huge donations from the Hilton group to assist affected families in the Northern Division.

“I take this time to show our appreciation and gratitude for the kind gesture in donating the beddings that will certainly bring smiles to affected families in the Northern Division.
“We pray that our heavenly father will continue to bless the management, staff and the resort.”
The cushions were estimated to fill about six trucks, with transportation facilitated by the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO).
The Republic of Fiji Military Forces officers were also present to help load the items.

“Donating these beddings is very important to me personally and to the organisation. We hope that these cushions will greatly assist those who are in urgent need of bedding and we are grateful for the assistance of the NDMO in ensuring they are distributed to those most in need,” Mr Wells said.
