NGO Organises Baking Class For Nadi Women Affected By COVID-19 Pandemic
We started this workshop to mark International Women’s Day and to also help provide self-employment to people who were affected by COVID-19, for women especially.

Nadi-based non-government organisation, Voice of Needy Foundation, held a baking workshop for about 16 women who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 11-month-old foundation is currently led by founder and president, Mainaz Ali.
There will be a total of three workshops conducted in Nadi every Saturday. The final workshop will be held on April 3.

Ms Ali, a teacher at Nadi Muslim College, said not only was the workshop part of the celebration for International Women’s Day, but it was also an opportunity for the women in Nadi to gain new skills to earn a living for themselves.
She said the workshop was facilitated by Boo Fj Cakes and Treats owner, Josephine Fong.
“We started this workshop to mark International Women’s Day and to also help provide self-employment to people who were affected by COVID-19, for women especially,” she said.
“This Saturday will be the second workshop conducted and one of the outcomes we are hoping for is to allow these women to gain some experience and transfer the knowledge to other women in their communities.”
Ms Ali said the foundation would also host a fabric painting class in Nadi in a few weeks from now.
