Residents of Legalega in Nadi woke to an unusual Sunday morning after a joint raid involving Police and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

Seven vehicles were parked along the roadside, restricting motorists to one lane as rain drizzled over the area.

Several Fiji Police Force and RFMF officers were seen in full uniform, with some military officers carrying firearms near a residence being searched.

A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said the operation caused concern among nearby residents.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that no arrests were made.

“Negative arrest. The joint task force pursued information on alleged drug-related activities at the location, hence the raid,” Ms Naisoro said.
