The chief executive officer of Vodafone Fiji, Elenoa Biukoto has confirmed that all money stored on lost E-ticketing cards will not be transferred to the new card.
Ms Biukoto’s comments followed questions posed during an interview with FijiVillage via Facebook on Wednesday evening.
During the interview, Ms Biukoto said transferals could not be done given there was no proper facility to help them conduct the transfer.

She said there was a lot of abuse found in the old system and they were working to try and avoid that happening.
“Your card is basically money which means you must keep it safe,” Ms Biukoto said.
“The only transfer we are doing right now from the old to the new system is through the blue cards- subsidised student cards.
“Of course, this is an issue that’s being brought up in the steering committee and they have come up with certain scenarios that we are closely working on.”
Consumer Council of Fiji chief executive officer, Seema Shandil believed this should be done in a case-by-case system where Vodafone Fiji could look at individual cases and sort the genuine ones.
“At least we could go case by case. They’ve seen some abuse in this process but that should not jeopardies those who genuinely lost their hard-earned money,” Ms Shandil said.
Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica said there were still ongoing conversations with Vodafone about this issue and how they could better the services.
“There are some cases where bus cards are genuinely lost, and we are trying to work with customers to see the best solution,” he said.
