No Secrets To Success, Dux Tells

Lautoka Central College dux, Vivashni Chand says there is no secret to being successful.
The Year13 science student was elected dux of the college. She was also given an excellence award in Mathematics, Biology and Physics during the school’s annual prize giving ceremony in Lautoka.
The 18-year-old said her ecstatic results received were only achieved through preparation, hard work and sheer determination.

She said being the eldest in the family, she had always dreamt of excelling in her studies to make her parents proud and setting an example to her younger siblings.
“Where there is a will, there is a way,” she said.
“Coming from a family of accountants, enrolling into pure science was the biggest challenge for me in Year 11.
“I had always dreamt of working as a medical professional so this was the beginning. I told myself to stay calm, be positive, work hard and enjoy the journey.”
College principal, Amant Lal, acknowledged the parents, staff members and the outgoing Year 13 students for their dedication towards the school and lead up to the successful outcomes of all the students.
“Although this pandemic has taken many things from us, it has also given us the opportunity to highlight what is truly important, family, friends, health and your school community,” said Mr Lal.
