No Vaccines Yet For COVID-19, Says Health Minister

No vaccination has been validated to cure coronavirus.
This was the affirmation made by the Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete at the opening of the refurbished Sexual Reproductive Health Clinic in Rodwell Road, Suva yesterday.
Dr Waqainabete said since the outbreak of the virus, the world had been racing to find a vaccination.

He said development partners, including the World Health Organisation, provided guidance should there be a discovery of the right vaccine.
“As far as we know, even though many partners are looking for a vaccine, there has not been one at the moment that has been validated,” Dr Waqainabete said.
“What we do not want to do is put people at risk by the vaccines we use on them.
“No country wants to do that.”
He said: “Medicines and chemicals that haven’t been tested we need to understand not only the good that it brings but the bad things that it brings.
“Unless it is validated then we would make it official.”
Right now, none has been validated, identified and rubber-stamped that this it is the vaccine.
