There has been no confirmation yet on who will replace dismissed Attorney-General Graham Leung, following his removal from Cabinet earlier today by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
In a formal statement issued this afternoon, the Prime Minister announced that he had exercised his constitutional authority under Section 92(3)(b) of the Constitution to dismiss Mr Leung from his ministerial post with immediate effect.
"Today, I have decided to exercise the power conferred upon me by Section 92(3)(b) of the Constitution, to dismiss Mr Graham Everett Leung as a Minister holding the office of Attorney-General, with immediate effect," Mr Rabuka stated.

Mr Leung was appointed to the role on 5 June 2024. However, the Prime Minister said that findings from the recent Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the appointment of the FICAC Commissioner had made Mr Leung’s continued presence in Cabinet untenable.
"The findings in the recent Report of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the appointment of the FICAC Commissioner, has made it evident to me that Mr Leung’s position in my Cabinet is now untenable," Mr Rabuka said.
He added that the decision was not taken lightly.
"This is not a decision I have taken lightly, but one that is necessary in the best interest of the people that we serve."
