Let’s lift the tempo of operations and work together to rebuild confidence and trust in this uniform.

This was the message by Divisional Police Commander North, Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka, as he urged officers to strengthen professionalism and community engagement during a Northern Division parade on Wednesday, December 17.

SSP Baledrokadroka reminded officers that effective policing required more than enforcing laws.

“We do more than just enforce laws. We build bridges between our communities,” he said.
“If you look at policing in totality, we are expected to be more than just first responders — we are also counsellors managing tense situations.”

He emphasised that community policing was central to addressing the root causes of crime and restoring public trust in the Police Force.

“We must give our communities a reason to support and work with us,” SSP Baledrokadroka said.
“Our communities want quality and consistent service, and those two go hand in hand.”

The divisional commander called on officers to remain passionate, committed and driven in their duties, particularly during the festive season when policing demands increase.

“If we get things right now, everything will fall into place,” he said.

SSP Baledrokadroka urged officers to work collectively to raise operational standards and rebuild confidence in the Police uniform across the Northern Division.
