The Kingdom of Norway will look at more co-operation and exchange programmes, to further bilateral ties with Fiji.
This was the assurance by the Minister of International Development Dag-Inge Ulstein following a question posed by a member of the audience during the Crown Prince of Norway’s visit at the University of the South Pacific yesterday.
A member of the audience asked, “Will Norway provide more scholarships in the field of climate change and research?”

In response, Haakon Magnus said: “Norway is a democratic country which has its own government and they look after the affairs of the country.
It is the Prime Minister and the government who decide.
“I will give this question to our Minister of International Development Dag-Inge Ulstein to answer that question for you.”
Mr Ulstein said he was asked the same question everywhere he went.
“I visited the researchers at the University of Bergen right before I came here and they have the same question,” he said.
“So the answer is yes. Of course we should have more co-operation and exchange programmes.”
Haakon then visited the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies. The artists performed an item and sang a song from Norway.
Following the number, Haakon commended the Performing Arts group for their performance.
