Nuzhat wins top management award

Having to develop a better study routine and break tasks into manageable chunks to avoid sleepless nights paid off for Tarfeeha Nuzhat.
The 22-year-old was awarded the Most Outstanding Management Student 2024 during the University of Fiji’s School of Business and Economics awards night at Saweni campus, Lautoka, on Wednesday night.
She also received two Outstanding Awards in Marketing Management and HR Management.

M. Nuzhat has completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English Literary Arts and Management, and is awaiting graduation.
Her motivation for success is truly her family and parents.
“What I have achieved is for them, as without them, I wouldn’t be here today on this platform,” she said.
“I live by the quote, ‘Adjusting someone else’s crown can never let yours slip.’
"I am a firm believer in clapping for others, believing that my turn will come, and it has. For anyone struggling, I would like to say: never give up. Life has setbacks, but it also has comebacks. Dream big and be patient.”
She also prioritised self-care, making sure to take breaks and recharge when needed, which improved her focus and productivity in her studies.
“These strategies helped me navigate my challenges more effectively and stay positive throughout the process.
“Moving from Suva to Lautoka was a significant change for me, as it meant leaving behind my friends and the familiar comfort of my old life.
“The transition was tough, and I often found myself feeling lonely in a new environment. Being an only child at home added to that challenge; I missed my siblings dearly and longed for their presence and support,” she said.
At the same time, she faced the pressure of wanting to achieve all her dreams at university.
“The weight of my aspirations often led to endless sleepless nights, as I juggled assignments, exams, and the desire to excel.
“Each challenge has shaped me, teaching me resilience and the importance of perseverance, even when the journey feels overwhelming.”
