Words cannot express how grateful we are for all the show of support for the men and women officers all over Fiji who have been manning checkpoints and roadblocks this past week.

Support came from far and wide and from people of all walks of life and officers were fortunate to be remembered whether it was a donation of refreshments, or a hearty meal cooked by families and society groups throughout the week.

Officers received a pleasant surprise as His Excellency the US Ambassador Joseph Cella decided to lend a helping hand serving tea and donating refreshments in the Southern Division.

And on another night, it was fellow New Zealand Police officer Inspector Sue Douglas who delivered donations from the New Zealand High Commission which was warmly welcomed by officers braving the cold nights at the many checkpoints within the Suva area.

It was a family affair as the Seeto family cooked up a storm on behalf of the Reserve Bank of Fiji and Fiji Law Society Council preparing 200 packs of curry to all officers.

Other special mentions goes out to the T.I.S.I Sangam Ra Branch Executives who handed over refreshments at the Rakiraki Police Station, while officers have been blessed with visitations from various Church groups such as the Seventh Day Adventist Church group from Kalabu.

Other families also decided to prepare a hot cuppa and some baked goodies with officers such as Mrs Bulou and Aliti from Valelevu to the Weleilakeba families in Delainavesi.

Officers were fortunate to have recieved water tanks from Red Cross and Cartons of Anti Bacterial Washing Soap and vinaka vakalevu to Flour Mills of Fiji for their donation.

Some have stopped by with cold refreshments while some wish to remain anonymous and for those who we may have missed, please know that we are truly grateful that you have taken time to support the work of officers on the ground.

Vinaka Vakalevu, Sukria, Bahoot Dhanyavaad, Fai’aksea and Thank you.
