One Month For SODELPA To Identify

The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) has one month to clarify irregularities identified in financial accounts from 2015 to 2019.
Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem wrote to SODELPA seeking more explanations and a breakdown of the financial disclosures submitted by the party for those years.
As the registered officer of the party, General Secretary Emele Duituturaga confirmed receiving the letter dated December 3.

She said: “The records required go back some years and we will do all possible to provide the information required within the 30 days given to respond.
“I must point out though that our accounts for the respective fiscal years have been audited and accepted by the Registrar’s Office.”
Questions have been emailed to Mr Saneem seeking further information on the nature of the discrepancies.
