Online Learning System To Help Keep iTaukei Culture Alive

President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere launched the ‘Solesau’ online learning management system on Monday night.
The system focuses on educating people on the iTaukei culture and tradition, language, norms and values.
The online learning management system was one of the three key milestones for the iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB).

Also launched were the newly revamped TTFB website.
This online resource is divided into four categories that capture the iTaukei language, culture, tradition, and heritage that will keep ties to Fiji alive.
Healing plants of Fiji publication
The book ‘Healing Plants of Fiji’ which was also launched on Monday was authored by renowned Fiji and Pacific Botanist, Suliana Siwatibau.
The book is the culmination of several years of collating information from at least 82 different healers in widely located villages and settlements of Fiji.
It is a collection of herbal healing concoctions currently used by healers in Fiji.
The book is an attempt to ensure that the healing plants are correctly identified scientifically and any relevant information gathered internationally on their uses and effective properties are recorded.
