Ono-i-Lau consultation cancelled due to adverse weather

Constitution Review Commission chairperson Sevuloni Valenitabua has confirmed the cancellation of a planned consultation in Ono-i-Lau due to adverse weather conditions.

The consultation, which was scheduled to take place as part of the commission’s outreach efforts, has been called off to ensure the safety of both organizers and participants.

Mr Valenitabua stated that unpredictable weather in the region made it unsafe to proceed with the event as planned.

He added that a new date for the consultation will be announced once conditions improve, ensuring that residents of Ono-i-Lau will still have the opportunity to participate in the review process.

The commission continues its work across the Lau group aiming to gather public input despite challenges posed by weather disruptions.
