Our powerlifters head to Nauru

The Fiji Powerlifting Fed-eration has named a strong 10-member team for the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championships 2014 in Nauru from October 30 to November 2.
This was confirmed yesterday by Federation general president Viliame Lagonilakeba.
He said the 10-member squad consists of six athletes and four officials.

“Competing in Nauru will be no easy feat,” Lagonilakeba said.
“Powerlifting is a deeply entrenched sport in their culture, and many world champions have emerged from Nauru, giving them a reputation as one of the toughest powerlifting nations in the world.”
He indicated that our athletes are confident and well prepared for the challenge. They are looking forward to testing their strength and skill against the very best in the region.
