More than $10,000 was raised for Malakai Luma after his story became widely circulated and even caught the attention of the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
The eight-year-old was airlifted from the Levuka Hospital to the CWM Hospital.
His plight became widely known after family friends and social media influencers, The Waka Family of the North, took Malakai’s plight online and created a GoFundMe account.
