PALM Lands A Hopeful Future For Vunimasi

Amid the sometimes-nega­tive stories of the Pacific Australian Labour Mobil­ity (PALM) Scheme, one Fijian has added value to his time in Australia.

Josateki Vunimasi began work­ing in the meat industry in Febru­ary 2022.

But after a few months, he felt that he could do a lot more with his time.

However, one of conditions of the contract under the scheme is that a worker is not allowed a secondary employment.

There, he decided to make use of his time volunteering and it led him to Swan Hill CFA (Country Fire Authority).
