Panapasa Sent on Leave Amid Abuse of Office Investigation

Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) Assistant Commissioner, Senior Superintendent Salote Panapasa has been sent on leave starting today pending the results of the investigation against her.
Ms Panapasa has been investigated by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) since last year.
She is being investigated for abuse of office.

In reference to the investigation, FCS acknowledged that Ms Panapasa is innocent until proven guilty.
The FCS also understands the need to allow investigations by FICAC and the operations of the FCS to carry on normally in due course.
