Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has served full disclosures of the charges against former Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) Commissioner, Salote Panapasa.
Panapasa appeared before Magistrate Krishna Prasad at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday with two counts of abuse office and an alternative charge of general dishonesty causing a loss.
It was alleged that between August 1 and September 30, 2023, Panapasa whilst being employed as a civil servant in Suva, instructed officers to facilitate the use of building materials of the FCS for her private residence in Kinoya.

It was also alleged that between August 1 and October 31, 2023, Panapasa instructed a Corrections officer to alter the weekly reports to justify the use of the building materials at her home.
During the court proceeding, FICAC lawyer, Josann Pene informed the court that the second phase of disclosures was now served.
The first set of disclosures was served during Panapasa’s first appearance in court on June 14.
Panapasa will take her plea on July 26.
Her bail was extended.
