Parents From Outer Islands In Suva To Buy School Stationery
Mother-of-five children, Talatoka Caginavanua, from Nabukelevu, Kadavu came with her family to Suva for the first time.

Parents from as far as Kadavu and Gau Islands made their way to Suva to do their back to school shopping on Tuesday.
They were among the many parents who were keen on getting the school shopping done earlier because they have less than a week before school resumes on April 11.
Mother-of-five children, Talatoka Caginavanua, from Nabukelevu, Kadavu came with her family to Suva for the first time.

She had been saving money since last month.
“The price in Suva is lower compared to Kadavu.
“Yaqona and dalo are our sources of income.”
Vaciseva Yabaki of Gau Island said the prices of school products were cheaper compared to previous years.
The 42-year-old said despite their only source of income being fishing, she did not face any challenges in buying school stationery for her five children.
Another parent, Miliana Tuimaisala, of Namosi thanked the Government for removing VAT (Value-added tax) on lunch boxes and water bottles.
