Parents Support Vax For Children

Parents should support their children to get vaccinated says mother, Mereoni Tinaibui.

“When the teacher called informing us about my 17-year-old son Marika Kaitani to get vaccinated, I was not hesitant because I wanted my children to get a better life and this is the way forward,” Ms Tinaibui said.

“Life is hard and parents will only make it more difficult for their children if they prevent them from getting vaccinated.

“At this point, getting vaccinated allows our children to enter learning spaces such as classroom and progress in the educational journey.

“We need to be supportive, especially when they have agreed to get vaccinated,”she said.

Her son a Year 11 student of All Saints Secondary School in in Vulovi, Labasa, Marika Kaitani said he wanted to complete his education and become a Physics teacher.

Marika said he wanted to be safe from the virus and get back to school.

He has been helping his parents in the farm for the past five months but he is more than ready to get back to school.

Another parent, Sunil Lata, said she wanted her daughter to be safe from the virus and brought her to the vaccination centre.

Her 15-year-old daughter, Simriti Shaanvi Reddy, who aspires to become a dentist, said she preferred face-to-face learning rather than attempting worksheets and having limited interaction with her teachers.
