During a talanoa session with the visiting ministers – Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau and Minister for Forestry Osea Naiqamu – the villagers asked if they could help them on the issue.
Tiliva Village spokesperson, Watisoni Korobiyau told the ministers: “Please, if Government can help us by getting a few male teachers to teach in our school.
“We need males in the school to teach because they have some sense of authority and can be vocal when it comes to meetings in the village.”
Mr Koroilavesau and Mr Naiqamu said they would take their request and refer it to the relevant ministry.
Both ministers ended their three-day tour to Kadavu Island yesterday.
