Partnership Helps Erase Nathan’s Diabetes Misery

Life has not been easy for Na­than Cokanauto after he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabe­tes at the age of 13.

Life has not been easy for Na­than Cokanauto after he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabe­tes at the age of 13.

Nathan, the child who was once cheerful, chubby and full of smiles two years ago, is now closely moni­tored with constant insulin injec­tions, sugar tests, and a changed diet.

Nathan is part of a campaign put together by Diabetes Fiji Inc to combat the deadly non-communica­ble disease (NCD).

He was part of the Digicel Fiji, Telstra Group and Diabetes Fiji Inc partnership signing at Nabua, Suva on Thursday.
