Passengers Safe After Thrown Overboard From Wave Impact

The Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre confirmed that the three passengers swam ashore after they were thrown overboard due to a wave impact.

Passengers on board an overdue boat en route to Ovalau are safe.

The Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre confirmed that the three passengers swam ashore after they were thrown overboard due to a wave impact.

They are being assessed by a medical team.

Earlier at around 6pm, the Rescue Coordination Centre had tweeted that they were coordinating with Police for an overdue boat.

A boat matching the description the missing persons were in has been located but the three passengers were still unaccounted for.

Four boats had assisted in searching in the area.
