Peni Sikivou appointed PS for national planning, development and statistics

The Public Service Commission (PSC), with the agreement of the Prime Minister, has announced the appointment of Peni Sikivou as the new Permanent Secretary for National Planning, Development and Statistics.

PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada confirmed the appointment, noting Mr Sikivou’s extensive experience of more than 30 years working across government and the Pacific region in economic and strategic planning, project planning, financial management, monitoring, and evaluation.

“Mr Sikivou has extensive experience in the public and private sectors, as well as regionally, where he worked with the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat in Port Vila, Vanuatu,” Mr Rokovada said.

Mr Sikivou holds a Master of Science in Macroeconomic Policy and Planning for Developing Countries from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom and is currently pursuing a PhD.
