Permanent Secretaries have been advised to use their own discretion to allow staff to leave early from work to secure their families and properties in preparation for Tropical Yasa.

In a circular, Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Susan Kiran said non-essential services should be closed from tomorrow with adequate prior notice given to the public.

"All non-essential civil servants will be required to stay home during the height of the cyclone."

Ms Kiran also reminded the Permanent Secretaries to ensure that all respective offices are secured and all equipment and documents stored safely.

"The Ministry of Civil Service will issue further advice for civil servants as required, based on assessments by the Fiji Meteorological Office and the National Disaster Management Office," Ms Kiran said.
