All personal information entered through the vaccine registration system on the digitalFIJI platform is safe, says Dr Rachel Devi Head of Fiji’s COVID-19 Vaccine Taskforce.
Dr Rachel made the comments after concerns were raised by members of the public following a cyber incident that disrupted Government networks, including digitalFIJI’s COVID-19 vaccination registration portal over the past two days.
“All the information is safe, it is kept with teams on the ground and with our digital system,” she said.

“What we do when anyone is coming in for the registration, we are both doing it manually and the tablets through our offline system.
“The manual way of registration has always been used by the Ministry for all other record keeping of other vaccines.”
For the first 6000 front liners who were vaccinated, she said registrations were done both manually and digitally.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said anyone above the age of 18 was being vaccinated.
“We want to vaccinate these 50,000 Fijians and then we will await the next batch,” he said.
“We also have to remember that these vaccines have expiry dates that’s why we are ensuring that the expiry dates of the initial dose and the second dose lie within its expiry dates.
“At the moment we are getting in people above 18 years old to receive their jabs.”
He said the ministry was hopeful of receiving the next batch of vaccines soon.
“We are grateful with the turnout, we are seeing leaders coming through, we have seen companies coming in as a team, civil servants and members of the general public and I think that is a powerful message,” the minister said.
“This would send the message across because at the end of the day, those that had hesitations and those that were not agreeing to the plan would be able to see what is happening on the ground and the urge by Fijians to be vaccinated.”
