The Ministry of Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation unveiled the Fiji National Action Plan (NAP) on Friday.

It’s a significant step towards preventing violence against women and girls.

During the event, numerous stakeholders and women’s rights advocates gathered to discuss and highlight the comprehensive strategy outlined in the plan, which aims to completely eradicate such violence.

Lynda Tabuya said the NAP was a significant milestone in fulfilling a 2018 recommendation put forth by the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW Committee) to the Government of Fiji.
