PM: Local election may be held back
Decision tied to budget constraints, fuel crisis, and preparations for the next national election.

The Government may delay the local government elections scheduled for September, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has revealed.
Mr Rabuka said the move is being considered as Government weighs its tight budget against ongoing pressures from the fuel crisis and preparations for an upcoming national election.
Local government elections have not been held in Fiji since 2005.
