PM: New Teachers Quarters Will Help Bridge the Divide
A new teacher’s quarters was opened in Sawanikula in Naitasiri by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday.

A new teacher’s quarters was opened in Sawanikula in Naitasiri by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday.
This is the third quarters within a week, which was built from the Small Grants Scheme from the Office of the Prime Minister. Another two will be opened next week.
So far more than half a million dollars has been invested by the Government.

Mr Bainimarama said this was being done so teachers were enticed to take up teaching posts in rural and remote schools.
He said this had been one of the reasons why education standards were lacking.
