Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has publicly apologised to Padma Lal and her family during her late husband, Dr Brij Lal’s homecoming and interment commemoration programme at Tabia Sanatan College in Labasa on Saturday.

The Prime Minister shed tears when Ms Lal publicly shared how her husband was assaulted in November 2009 at the military barracks in Suva and within hours deported to Australia.

The mother of two children recalled when she arrived in Fiji after a few months to resume her work; she was told at the Nadi International Airport that she would be deported the next day.
