PM Thanks Fijians for Prayers
Mr Bainimarama said he felt the power of prayer and received overwhelming support and well wishes from people in Fiji and abroad.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday attributed his successful medical treatment and recovery in Australia to the power of prayer.
While addressing Fijians on the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) Radio Fiji One programme, Nai Lalakai, he thanked church leaders and all citizens for their prayers.
While undergoing treatment in Australia, Mr Bainimarama said he felt the power of prayer and received overwhelming support and well wishes from people in Fiji and abroad.

He believes that everything he went through was all part of God’s plan in his life and he is thankful that he still has the gift of life.
He also stated that medical treatments could go either way adding that his belief in God helped in his medical journey.
“My medical treatment has finished and I stand ready to continue the work that I love, which is to serve the people of Fiji,” he said.
He also thanked all medical personnel for their tireless effort and those who visited, called him over the phone and sent messages of well wishes.
Mr Bainimarama urged Fijians not to ignore symptoms of ill health and to seek medical help when needed because prevention is better than cure.
He paid special tribute to his family for the care and support they showed him while he was in Australia and said he was blessed to have them.
Furthermore, he acknowledged all medical professionals for their commitment in the war against COVID-19.
He pleaded with anti-Government elements to put politics aside and to unite for the betterment of the country.
With a population of more than 900,000 and while people have different beliefs and political views, he urged everyone to stand united.
Mr Bainimarama also spoke about the situation in Ukraine and pleaded with Fijians to pray for peace there.
He closed his address by thanking Attorney- General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, all Government ministers and civil servants for their hard work and urged them to strive to do better as Fiji moved forward.
