PM to launch NDP
The Ministry of Finance is spearheading the NDP and is expected to build on the outcomes of the Economic Summit, the Fiscal Review Committee report, the Education Summit outcomes.

The National Development Plan (NDP) will be launched next Tuesday.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will be officiating in this event.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Biman Prasad said the launch would earmark the start of a comprehensive NDP that promoted national unity and a shared vision for social, economic and political advancement.

“Our National Development Plan, as I said, will be launched on Tuesday by the Prime Minister,” Mr Prasad said.
“We have the potential to become a rich country in the next 25 to 30 years, but we cannot do this if we remain, if we continue with business as usual.
“That means that we have political stability, that we have consistency in policy, that we have a very consultative, transparent and accountable approach.”

“We are confident as a Government that we will leave a legacy – no matter how long we are in Government, of a political culture, of a political leadership that we see this country change Government from one group to another in a peaceful, transparent and in an accountable matter,” Mr Prasad said.
