Police are closing in on the evasive network of those involved in the two recent drug finds in Nadi.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime (ACP) Mesake Waqa confirmed the drugs were from the same source so “we are working with our regional partners to identify the source.”

He was referring to the ongoing investigation where the police recently seized three tonnes of drugs in a vacant house at Legalega, and another 1.1 tonnes at Maqalevu, off Denarau Road, in Nadi in a space of a week.

ACP Waqa believed the tip-off to police was a result of a fall-out within the syndicate network.

Members of his team continue investigations.
