An arrest is expected soon in connection with a widely circulated assault video filmed in Labasa, Acting Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga confirmed today.

“I have directed our team in Labasa to investigate and get in everyone involved. A dispute over an issue does not give anyone the right to physically assault any person,” he said.

He said all individuals captured in the footage will be questioned, and arrests are anticipated as evidence is already being compiled.
Mr Lutunauga described the footage as a “sad reality” of members of a community resorting to violence to resolve disputes.
“The video evidence is already there and the victim’s medical has been done. We will start charging people soon,” he said.
