Police Investigate Viral Video of Fishing Vessel Brawl

Police have confirmed they will investigate a video circulating on Facebook that appears to show a violent altercation between masked men and a group of Asian men aboard a fishing vessel.

The footage, which went viral on Friday afternoon, shows what appear to be masked Fijian men spraying a fire extinguisher and throwing objects at several shirtless Asian men inside the vessel.

Authorities have yet to release further details, but the video has sparked public concern and calls for clarity on the incident.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Warne Bautolu confirmed that, although no formal complaints have been lodged, officers will be visiting the fishing vessel today as part of their investigation.

Questions remain about whether anyone sustained injuries-or worse-during the incident.

Police say these details will be clarified following their inquiry.
