“I had even attended a meeting with the director of CID and divisional Police Commander Northern at Police headquarters in Labasa on February 10,” the father of one child said.
“He has assured that they will carry out an investigation and let me know of the result.”
Meanwhile, the acting divisional medical officer Northern, Dr Tiko Saumalua said they had received a letter from the nurse who claimed that the allegation was false.
He added the feedback received from Taveuni was that the nurse was on his day off from work on that particular day. And no other health staff was aware of or witnessed what happened as it occurred outside the work environment.
“We had advised the complainant to address his complaint to Police as they will be best to interview those that witnessed what happened,” Dr Saumalua said.
