Police Officers Help Mum Give Birth At Her Home

A story of Police bravery and courage added to the Fijian General Election hype in Suva yesterday.

It was a rare occasion where two Police officers, while responding to a call for assistance, helped a pregnant woman in labour give birth to a baby boy inside her home.

They were Inspector Raijeli Kunakata and Constable Vanaisa Dranivesi from the Raiwaqa Police Station. They were delivering food to colleagues at polling venues in Raiwaqa when they came across a man seeking help for the pregnant woman. The officers went to the house to assist, but upon reaching the home, they witnessed the woman in labour on the verge of giving birth.
