Police Officers’ Judgment Set for December 11

Three police officers charged for the death of a man at the Samabula Police Station in 2022 will return to the High Court in Suva on December 11 for their judgment.
Maciu Vakatuturaga, Joshua Bull and Isireli Raseisei appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe at the High Court in Suva on Friday hoping to have their judgment heard.
They are charged with one count each of manslaughter for allegedly assaulting Mikaele Tikoivalenibula.

Tikoivalenibula was brought to the Samabula Police Station for allegedly assaulting a 27-year-old mechanic.
The incident happened in February, 2022.
Justice Rajasinghe told both parties that he needed more time to complete the ruling thus adjourning the date.
Vakatuturaga and Bull were represented by lawyer Shirley Tivao while Rasei was represented by Joji Cakau.
The three men remain on bail.
