Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her home at Tavakubu, Lautoka, yesterday.

Dead is 49-year-old businesswoman Nazreen Bibi, a divorced mother of three.

She was alone when she was discovered by her daughter.

Police spokesperson Wame Bautolu confirmed the report. A neighbour claimed she heard Ms Bibi groaning in pain an hour before she was discovered.

The neighbour also claimed she tried calling out to her to open the door.

“The last words I heard her say was ‘I’m good’ before things went silent,” the neighbour said.

Shortly after, her daughter came by the property where she received help from the neighbour to get into the house.

Ms Bibi’ s daughter declined to comment.
