Police Probe Woman Over Birth And Death Of Newborn Baby

Police are investigating a 28-year-old woman of Soasoa in Labasa who is alleged to have buried her newborn baby after giving birth last week.

It is alleged that the woman, who is now admitted at the Labasa Divisional Hospital, delivered her baby and buried her body at her residence.

The matter was reported to Police when the woman denied the birth when asked by medical staff who attended to her at the Labasa Hospital.
