Police recover body at Toga Creek

The body of the 19-year-old male, who allegedly drowned in the Rewa River last Saturday, was recovered yesterday.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Josua Vodo said the report was received at 9am, after Jone Okemai, a labourer of Naduru Road, Kuku, Nausori disappeared while trying to retrieve a PVC pipe from the Rewa River.
A team from the Nausori Police Station and divers from the Police Mobile carried out a search over the past two days.

The search team was also accompanied by community members close to the area.
They eventually found his body stuck in debris floating near the Toga Creek.
As investigations continue, Police said a post-mortem examination would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
