Police Statistics Released By Police Creates Worry

The The Fiji Police Force has recorded a 19 per cent in­crease of suicide and at­tempted suicide in 2023. has recorded a 19 per cent in­crease of suicide and at­tempted suicide in 2023.

From January to February 2, 2023 the Force recorded 11 sui­cides and eight attempted suicide cases.

While in the same period last year, the Fiji Police Force record­ed a total of 11 suicide and five at­tempted suicide cases.

Psychotherapist Selina Kuruleca said despite the suicidal figures remaining at a staggering 11 dur­ing the first month, the number of attempted to commit suicide cases remains a concern.
