Police will conduct strict searches at entry points and carry out spot checks on suspicious persons during the UB40 concert at King Charles Park in Nadi later today.

Divisional Police Commander Western Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa said the measures are part of heightened security arrangements to prevent crime and ensure public safety.

“Strict searches will be carried out at the entrances, and officers will also conduct spot checks on suspicious persons,” SSP Vaisewa said.

He said specialised police resources, including the K9 unit and surveillance technology, will be deployed throughout the event.

SSP Vaisewa also warned concertgoers against engaging in illegal activities, particularly alcohol-related offences.

Increased police presence is expected in Nadi Town, Namaka and along the Lautoka corridor as part of the wider security operation.
