Police Warns Teachers Not To Confiscate Drugs From Students

Fiji Police Force personnel, Unaisi Mateiwai, who heads the nationwide scholastic programme, has cautioned teachers against confiscating illicit drugs from students.

Fiji Police Force personnel, Unaisi Mateiwai, who heads the nationwide scholastic programme, has cautioned teachers against confiscating illicit drugs from students.

Instead, they should isolate the child and call relevant authorities immediately. This is to ensure that the teachers do not get into trouble with the law, according to Ms Mateiwai.

She has been visiting schools in Gau, Nairai, and Batiki to raise awareness about criminal activities in schools around the country as part of the programme launched in 2004.
