Police Woman Achieves 501 Sit-ups In Police Fitness Test
Members of the Fiji Police Command Group took part in the first Required Fitness Test (RFL) since the easing of restrictions as announced by the Prime Minister on October 10.

It was a proud moment for the Fiji Police Force when 40-year-old Sergeant Sharmila Lata set a new benchmark for the blues, achieving 501 sit-ups.
Sergeant Lata, during the first required fitness test after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, was required to do 20 sit-ups however, she achieved 501 in total.
She has set a high benchmark for men and women in blue.

Sergeant Lata is originally from Rakiraki and has an 11-year-old daughter.
She has been in the Fiji Police Force for 16 years and recently returned from her duty in South Sudan.
Sergeant Lata is based at the Southern Division Prosecution Unit in Suva and was mostly based in the Western Division with Lautoka Police Station and Border Police.
The former Jasper Williams High School student, last Friday morning, set the new record during the Fiji Police Required Fitness Tests when she surpassed her required 20 sit-ups by achieving 501 in total.

The Commissioner of Police, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho, led the Command Group RFL as officers challenged themselves to complete the exercises, which include a 2.4 kilometre run or walk to be completed within a time in accordance with their respective age groups as well as chin-ups, sit-ups, and press-ups.
Brigadier-General Qiliho has always advocated for the health and well-being of all Police Officers as maintaining physical fitness would ultimately result in increased effectiveness and efficiency.
Other Units and Divisions would be conducting their RFL Tests over the following weeks.
