Post-mortem ordered in death of officer under investigation
Police said a post-mortem examination would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

A Lami Police Station officer, understood to have been under investigation in relation to the death of the late Police Constable Peniasi Racagi, was found dead in Sigatoka Town in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The Fiji Police Force confirmed in a Facebook post yesterday that the officer's body was found in the morning, and investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death was ongoing.
This masthead understands the officer's body, facing the sky outside a restaurant around 2.30am, was discovered by three fellow police officers.

The victim was allegedly intoxicated.
The three officers then conveyed the deceased to the Sigatoka Hospital, where the officer was pronounced dead on arrival.
This newspaper understands the said officer had called his wife that he would be travelling to Sigatoka for family commitments.
He met his wife earlier in the day for a family errand, before they went separate ways.
Police said a post-mortem examination would be conducted to determine the cause of death, after which further details are expected.
The officer is survived by his wife and six children. He was from Waibasoga in Naitasiri, had maternal links to Balevuto in Ba. The wife is from Qereqere Settlement in Nadroga.
