Prasad to Represent Fiji in Philippines
The 17-year-old said it was worth promoting youth empowerment, cultural pride, and the essence of beauty that transcended borders.

Ashlin Alveena Prasad aspires to make an impact while competing in international beauty pageants.
The former Swami Vivekananda College student left on Sunday in a bid to represent Fiji at the Fourth Edition of the Queen of International Tourism 2024.
The event is scheduled to take place in the Philippines from March 12 to 24.

“My journey to this stage has been one of dedication, perseverance, and a deep-rooted desire to showcase the rich cultural heritage and beauty of Fiji to the world,” she said.

Her mother, Aireen Lata, a tailor at Korovuto, said she could not believe her daughter was on her way to achieving one of her dreams.
“She has done a lot for us and now she is going to do something for the country. It’s the greatest thing she has done,” Ms Lata said.
Her father, Asesh Prasad, said: “We always notice that she works hard in anything she does, focusing on her dreams and ambitions.
“The significance of this event is also to inspire others in Fiji and beyond to pursue their dreams with courage and pride.
