Prasad to Showcase Local Talent in FestPac

A fashion designer from Vanua Levu will represent Fiji in the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPac) in Hawaii.
Cherish Prasad, 27, will be part of a 100-member delegation from Fiji to participate in the festival from June 3-17 in Honolulu.
Mr Prasad will showcase 30 designs from his collection called 'Sunset in Paradise' as Savusavu is known as the Hidden Paradise of Fiji.

"When I saw the expression of interest advertised by the Fiji Arts Council few months ago, I thought this would be another chance to showcase my talent at the international level," Mr Prasad said.
Last December, took part in the Pacific Fusion Fashion Show in New Zealand.
He started his career as a fashion designer at the age of 15. His first local stand-alone fashion show in 2022 by the name Vintage.
The second eldest of three siblings said he was proud to be the first male in Savusavu using his talent in the world of fashion shows.
"I thank the Savusavu Tourism Association, Goodman Fielder, Savusavu Women and Youth Association, my family and friends for helping me raise funds so that I can prepare well for this event," he said.
"My aim is to showcase that Fiji has beautiful skills in fashion designing and learn new ideas so that I can develop my fashion design as an entrepreneur."
He thanked the Fiji Arts Council for selecting him and the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs for providing the opportunity to take part in this festival.
