Pratap Never Lost Hope Chasing Dream

The father of four said after 15 years of experience working in various restaurants in the ‘Jetset town’, it was time to take a bigger responsibility as a chef.

Although life has not been easy for Ronald Pratap he has not deviated from chasing his dream.

Pratap, 38, started working and operated a small but simple restaurant in Nadi.

Fifteen years later, he now owns the Ronald’s Curry House/ Hash Wine and Dine, the new $30,000 restaurant that opened in Nadi three months ago.

“My journey has been a roller coaster,” Pratap said.

“I was determined. That drove me to where I am now. I like cooking that is why I have a restaurant.

“We opened this three months ago, as it has been my dream at a young age,” the star in Indian cuisine said.

“I have great interest in food, cooking is a great way to create mouth-watering dishes. I was looking for a good spot to sit my restaurant.

“Then I thought of opening one here, with the investment of over $30, 000.

“From the great support of the landlord, all pieces fitted for an aspiring entrepreneur like me.”

There are three full-time staff. The ever-lively set-up and vibrant team work under the watchful eyes of wife Ajeshni Pratap.

The air-conditioned eatery is well known for its Asian, mainly Indian dishes of all sorts.

Mr Prasad, who is originally from Navala in Ba, moved to Nadi for the bigger opportunity in 2007.

His next plan is to promote the wine and dining spaces within the restaurant.

“There is a great vibe as investor confidence grows. I am looking to grow the business in the Nadi township as we also do catering for events etc.”
